meet the team
As Vicar of the Cedar Centre Centre Craig carries overall responsibility for all the programmes and ministries of the church. He loves this role and is passionate about seeing people come to know God more and grow in their faith. Craig is married to Sarah and they have four adult children. They also have a large fluffy cat named Frodo who can often be found in and around the church facilities.
JORDAN SANDFORD - YOUTH LEADER
Jordan leads the youth ministry here at Cedar, which includes the Saturday night ‘Haven’ programme and Sunday morning ‘Elevate’.
You'll also see him behind the keyboard at the 10am service and preaching here and there.
He says for him, everything is about Jesus - making him known, and walking alongside people as they navigate the various challenges and joys of owning their faith in Christ.
Jordan is in his fifth and final year of study; after which, he will graduate with a Bachelor of Theology, and a Diploma of Pastoral Leadership (Specialising in Youth Development).

KATE SHRIGLEY - CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR/ OPSHOP MANAGER
Kate is the church administrator and attends the 10am service where she is a set up team leader and helps prepare the data projector service information.
Kate is also Manager of the New beginnings Opportunity Shop in Beach Haven which is run to support the community and provide funds for church's community projects.
Working with the elderly is one of Kates passions and she is an active member of the Pastoral Care Team.
MELISSA HILL - PEOPLE'S WARDEN
Melissa is the Ceder Center People’s Warden and a Synod Representative at the annual diocese meeting. Her role as Peoples Warden means if there is something at church that is stopping you from growing in faith or going in service then she is the person to talk to. She is responsible to ensure your point of view is considered. This is a role she take's very seriously. Outside of church, she works four days a week at an insurance company, She is married and a mum to two children who give her a great deal of pleasure (mostly) and she loves being creative.
MARK FEGAN - TREASURER
I am married to Jan, father to two adult girls and two boys.
Grandad to three and three quarter grandchildren.
As Church Treasurer I work with the finance team and am part of the Vestry.
I enjoy ministering in prayer to people as part of the Church Prayer Team.
Outside of the church I am involved along with Jan, in the Breakfree prayer ministry.
My working background is in corporate business, but I am now semi-retired working on a number of projects.
When time allows I enjoy sailing, caravanning, and messing around in the shed.
MOIRA WATSON - FOODBANK CO-ORDINATOR
Moira runs the Foodbanks on Tuesday and Thursday.
Her interests are her family, she is a mother to two adult children and grandmother to two lovely kids.
She enjoys reading, knitting and spinning, and also plays a bit of the violin.
JANICE DOWLE - SPACE CO-ORDINATOR
Janice is a semi-retired mother of 3. She is president of Rotary Birkenhead and strongly believes in the motto of "service about self". Janice's family have been involved with the church since the 1920's. Janice has held many positions in the church over the years but currently co-ordinates the SPACE programme for first times mums and their babies, works with the Friends of St Peters Chapel, is on the marketing committee and continues developing new initiatives and supporting all aspects of church life. Her goal is to see the Cedar Centre grow sustainably providing meaningful assistance to the community. An outdoors person, she enjoys cycling, tramping, sailing, food and travel and hopes that one day she will spend time barging in Europe taking in the essence of the villages along the canals.
LOUISE CLARK - MAINLY MUSIC LEADER
Louise is one of the leaders of Mainly Music and currently helps facilitate the Cedar Saplings Playgroups that run during the week. She loves connecting with the families in the community.
Louise is also involved in the Sunday music and helping grow the Youth Band.
She is married to Matt Clark and they have two children Emily and Joel.
JAN FEGAN - PRAYER MINISTRY
I look after the altar rail prayer ministry and am available if people want specific prayer. My passion is the healing power of prayer and as part of that I am involved with BreakFree, a deliverance prayer ministry organisation. I am also studying to be a Spiritual Director with Spiritual Growth Ministries, which is a form of spiritual companionship one-to-one. I am married to Mark and we have almost 4 grandchildren, and I enjoy the cycling trails that are around Auckland.
PATRICK GOLDFINCH - FINANCE COMMITTEE
I am an accountant, working with a partner in a small accounting firm for the last 10 years, I have been a vestry member for over 15 years in various roles such as property, treasurer , I am currently a member of the finance committee and working on establishing a church library. My interests are Rugby refereeing, reading and family.
ELIZABETH EVANS - VESTRY MEMBER
Elizabeth is a Vestry member, and one of the representatives from the Cedar Centre at Synod (the governance body of the Auckland Diocese, which meets for 3 days every September). She loves to pray with and for people as part of the prayer ministry team, and it is a special joy to see how God answers prayers. Elizabeth is married to John and they have 2 adult children.
JOHN EVANS - VESTRY MEMBER
I’m a 72-year-old retired carpenter, I am married to Elizabeth and we have two adult children.
I feel a close affinity with the lovely people at the Cedar Centre, we all care about each other in Christ.
I am part of a set up team serving at the 10am service. I also help with Mainly Music and Cedar Kids. I work in the Opp Shop and am a Vestry Member.
JOYCE GENTLE - VESTRY MEMBER
Joyce came to NZ from South Africa in 2005 and joined our Church on her arrival. She is a Vestry member. She is passionate about her faith and prayer. She is a member of the prayer ministry team and runs a weekly prayer clinic at the Cedar Centre on a Tuesday.
ALAN WALKER - VESTRY MEMBER
You will find Allan at the 8am service which he has attended for more years that he cares to remember. He leads the service each month.
You will also find Allan in the Opportunity Shop, serving on the Building Committee and as a fire warden.
